What is Sound Masking?
Sound masking is the addition of natural or artificial sound (such as white or pink noise) into an environment to cover up an unwanted sound.
Sound Masking is being used to protect confidential privacy in areas where sensitive or classified conversations are being held. The applications, among others, are in military, government, legal offices, and corporate board rooms. The sound must be guaranteed to be continuous during room use, performance must be verified, and the equipment must be able to protect door, walls, window, and ducts with vibrations maskers instead of loudspeakers.
Over 70% of employees believe distractions from conversations of other persons in the office reduce their concentration, increase their annoyance and reduce their productivity. Areas with call centers and cubicles are particularly susceptible to loss of efficiency to these distractions.
