Stuart Forcheimer

Stuart, the founder of HS Tech Group, has a unique blend of technical knowledge and hands-on experience that has been key to the company’s success. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and sharpened his skills in computer application and network design by working with several Fortune 500 companies, including The Discovery Channel, McCormick Spice Company, and Bausch & Lomb.
Before starting HS Tech Group, Stuart spent over 15 years working in his father’s general contracting company. This experience gave him a deep understanding of what it takes to run a successful, service-focused business. In 1993, Stuart’s love for technology and his extensive computer background came together, leading him to found HS Tech Group with a vision of bringing a better technology experience to every home.
Stuart is a leader not only in the technology industry but also in his community. He is actively involved in several local charitable associations and has served as the Treasurer of the Maryland Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. In 2010, Stuart and the HS Tech Group team were featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, where they played a key role in a project for Boys Hope Girls Hope, a charitable youth organization.
His commitment to excellence has been recognized with numerous awards. He received the W. Rex Bell award in 2011, being named The Associate Member of the Year for FARA. His expertise in false alarm reduction was acknowledged in 2012 when HS Tech Group received the prestigious PDQ award, with recognition from FARA and the Security Industry Association (SIA). HS Tech Group was also a finalist for the Best Installing Company by Security Sales and Integration Magazine in both 2012 and 2017.

In her role as Controller, Karen plays a critical part in supporting the President with the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis that guide strategic decision-making and the company’s continued growth. Her responsibilities extend across the full accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash-flow management, payroll coordination, financial reporting, and oversight of internal controls. Karin Nelson

After many years with a large national organization, Karin made a deliberate decision to transition to HS Tech Group, recognizing that something often gets lost in very large national or regional companies—namely, the ability to deliver a truly high level of personalized customer service. She was drawn to a smaller, more focused company where attention to detail, accountability, and client relationships are central to the culture.
Originally from Florida, Karin relocated to Maryland at the age of 20 to be closer to family. She brings more than 18 years of experience in the security industry, with a strong professional background spanning executive-level support, operations, and sales administration. In 2017, she joined HS Tech Group as Executive Assistant and Head of Human Resources, where she has continued to grow professionally while adapting to the evolving demands of a dynamic industry.
Outside of work, Karin is the proud parent of two teenage sons and places a high value on spending quality time with her family.

Service/Installation Supervisor

She began her career in administrative support, answering phones and handling filing, and quickly expanded her responsibilities through hands-on experience in customer service, service coordination, production homes, and support of commercial projects.
Over the years, Liz developed a comprehensive understanding of HST’s operations and customer expectations. This experience led to her growth into a leadership role within the service department, where she now manages the service team. In this role, Liz oversees daily service operations, supports technicians and office staff, and works closely with leadership to ensure consistent, professional service delivery.
Liz plays a key role in maintaining efficient workflows, clear communication, and accountability across the service team. Her deep knowledge of HST’s processes and long-standing commitment to the company contribute to reliable service operations and a positive experience for both customers and employees.
